About Us

Anchorage Early Learning caters for children ranging in age from 6 weeks to 5 years old. The hours of operation are between 7.30a.m – 5.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays). We trade for 51 weeks a year. Anchorage Early Learning is a caring, passionate, professional and nurturing centre with experienced and quality educators, who will guide your children through their first steps on the educational ladder. We are a family run, community focused centre and are involved with the local and surrounding primary schools.

Anchorage Early Learning has 3 large air-conditioned rooms, each self-contained and age specific so your child can develop at an appropriate pace. We aim to provide a learning environment where all children are thriving and exceeding expectations daily. Anchorage Early Learning is committed in developing our educators and we support further professional learning in the field of early educational years. Partnering with families and the community is a key value that Anchorage Early Learning strongly believes in. We recognise the importance of working together towards common goals and value parents as an important resource within the centre. Anchorage Early Learning has an open-door policy and aims to facilitate open communication between parents and the educators, whilst always ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of each child. We welcome feedback in all aspects of our centre and value your input as we strive for continual improvement and excellence. Communication will be made through our very own Anchorage Early Learning app supplied by OWNA, daily discussions, newsletters and meetings.

All our educational programs within the centre refer to the guidelines set by ACECQA. We use the National Quality Framework that ensures children receive a high level of care and education through regulation and across seven quality areas. In 2020 we underwent our Assessment and Rating process and achieved an overall rating of EXCEEDING the National Quality Standards.

The concept of ‘Belonging, Being and Becoming’ steer all that we do within the centre and incorporating the five Early Years Learning outcomes in all programming. Further, Anchorage Early Learning recognises that children are the most important part of our day. The centre is also registered under Family Assistance Act and is able to offer all eligible families fee relief in the form of Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

Each group is equipped with age appropriate and quality equipment. The Captains have their own covered outdoor area and playground.
Play based learning is still the foundation behind the teaching that happens in the preschool room, however, the children in this room are challenged at a more in-depth level that prepares them for kindergarten. The programmes are developed by an Early Childhood Teacher and a Primary School Teacher. The program is based around the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), as well as, using the Australian Curriculum, that is used in Kindergarten.
